GEOMETRIC ART: String Art 🪡

Jeanine, Elias, Betty & Pyper have all separately learned the String Art Class & the Math behind it, in the Beginner Course. This course briefly reviewed the Coordinate Plane, X & Y axis, the 4 quadrants, the origin point (0,0), and how to understand / create coordinates.

Then we learned, if you make a series of lines in a certain pattern, they can create a CURVE!!! WHAT??? 📉⤴️

Jeanine, (a veteran High School Math Teacher) also did the ‘Advanced String Art Class’ where we worked on various shapes rotated around a circle and what shapes these produced, and sewed them with String & produced some String Art Animals, a Giraffe, Jeanine’s fave animal 🦒.

Today, Elias (4th grade, LA, California, USA) persevered, and with patience and fortitude completed this sewing project! Having never before picking up a needle & thread! I’m very impressed with his go at the ‘Beginner String Art Class’ and our Colored Pencils Study to prepare us for the sewing part!

Equally impressive is Elias’ prep for the class! It makes interactive classes with a new medium much easier with less anxiety.
